Richard

Casey had asked why Ricky's friend Richard is not able to leave yet. It is not a case of his testing positive for TB. Unfortunately some of the paperwork from his adoptive parents was lost by one of the agencies, so they're having to resubmit it. Nothing like government bumbling to delay things. They're hopeful that it will take no more than 2 months to get it through, but there are no guarantees. We know that our God can remove such barriers so pray that he does quickly, so Richard can be reunited with his parents.

The Nintendo DS is a big hit, so thanks to those that made that happen. I also showed him the Ipod for the first time and he's already figured out that he can put the bigger earphones on it and is listening to the music that Darra and Stacie loaded on it while he plays Nintendo. Thanks again to all.

I tried to call Peggy but there wasn't an answer so I left her a message. If she needs help, she will call me back.

The kids just left with Stacie to go eat at De Angelo's. They were all wound up. Hayes had his skull cap on as it is cold outside.

Daddy went to Dynasty to get he and I some Chinese food for supper. (I certainly wasn't going to cook - Ha)

Aunt Paula called for an update. She has a board meeting tonight. She said Youth Ledge was going great. A new session starts tomorrow.

Aunt Billie wants to get something for Ricky and wanted me to suggest something. I need help on that as I can't decide what to get for him myself. What do you think?

Snow in AR today. Stevie was dissapointed that they didn't have early dismissal as lots of other schools did but she did say "oh well, at least we wont have to make up a day". Smart thinking.

Well, I will close for now. I will be so glad when ya'll are back home on USA soil. Stay safe.

Love,
Mama

PS Have Ricky practice saying Grannie and Paw Paw.
Give him another hug for us.

Steph - Darra left that last message. I'm sure you figured out what he was talking about (the competition for #1). Anyway, supper was great and the company with your kids always makes me smile. Having the four of them together always brings up interesting topics along with their age differences. They made their own pizza and I have to say, Maddie made a perfect round pizza while the boys' pizza's looked more like footballs. This cold weather is a drag. I'm ready for spring.

Hayes says, "Love Ricky, I love him so much that I want to play with him." "I love him up to God and down, down." "I love him up to where the astronauts are."

Cameron says, "Ricky, I can't wait to see you and don't forget about Gunner the "big dog". "See ya soon."

Well, it's Tuesday night for us and American Idol is on. (Importance of it means nothing when you are in another country adopting a child.)

Well, take care and keep the blogs coming. Tanner, I will check with your mom tonight and see if she needs help.

Hugs!!!

Hi Tanner and Stpehanie,
I'm trying this again. Sorry you havn't heard from me sooner-the link was incomplete and I'm just now figuring out how to do this with help from Connie and Stacie!!

I know you are thrilled to finally have Ricky with you and I can just see his happy smile. What an exciting time for all of you!!!

Some friends at work who are from the Philippines said to tell you to go to the mall shopping, but I see you have already found it. They also wanted to know which hotel you are staying at. There is one in particular that you should see, but can't remember the name-a "4 star"- will ask again.

We had a good day Sunday-J and I enjoyed seeing Madison's game.
Jeanette said they are very well behaved kids-polite and well mannered. She was impressed!!

We had snow here today-but not much and it melted quickly.

Give Ricky a BIG hug for me.
Later,
Mom

Hello Martinez's, I'm not too keen on this blog thing as it isn't very clear on how to send a message and if it gets through. I just clicked on the last post from yall to type this and hope it gets there. We are very much enjoying all the details of the trip and are estatic about the LONG adoption process coming to a happy ending. I'm also glad that it is somewhat turning into a mini vacation for the three of you. I guess it turns out there is alot of interesting history there to see and learn about. Of course, history was never one of my strong subjects perhaps because of my teachers Ms Hill and Thomas. I have however traveled the world and can definitely relate to the experiences that you have had in a third world country. It is most definitely only two groups. The haves and mostly the have nots. And it will really open your eyes. Again we wish yall well in the remainder of your stay and pray for your safe return. Know that we love yall,
Stephen and Family
