Mall or Bust

Well that was a new shopping experience. I've never seen so many people in a mall; not even at Christmas. Given that we were two out of only 5 caucasians seen the whole time, I'm sure we got some strange looks, particularly towing Ricky around. He and I made a jaunt over to the childrens section to find some long PJ's and ended up with a Plastic Man outfit, which I promptly left on the counter at McDonalds. When I went back to ask if anyone had left a bag, the employee said, "Yes, a costume". Speaking of Mickey D's, it's interesting how different the menu is over here...no Big Mac or Quarter Pounder; rather a hamburger with some strange orange sauce and chicken on the bone with rice. Guess which one Ricky picked? We let Ricky play some games and I've got to assume that he will like hunting, given how well he shot those aliens. Of course he may not like the cold too much. Two more things about the mall: 1) They have more employees per customer than anyplace I've ever been. And all very helpful and polite; 2) Armed guards screen you when you enter. Nothing like a good frisking before you go shopping (just kidding).

Ricky just walked out of the bathroom with his new PJ's on. I didn't do too bad. He's on the phone with Maddie and Austin, and grinning from ear-to-ear.

It's time to try to catch up on some sleep, so I'll repost in the AM.

I'm so excited for you guys! I love that he is calling you Mom and Dad, I know that has to be wonderful for you to hear.

I'm thinking about you guys a lot and my students are loving the updates, too. Lots of them are praying for you, as well.

Byron and I were reading here last night and both of us can't wait to see you guys and Ricky. Andrew keeps asking when his "new cousin" will be here and if he's going to go swimming with us again.

Love,
Jolie

This is so great. It's almost like a TV show that we have to wait to see what's going to happen next!
I can't wait to see Ricky here at home. He can wear his new PJ's to girls and guys night out! We'll be so excited to have a new addition to the children's program at church. :)
I can only see God's love in your blogs and check all the time.
Question about Richard-did he test positive for TB? What's the hold up for him? I am praying for him that he may have this experience also and soon.
Have fun and take lots of pictures!
Love yall-

Casey

We're so happy for you--your blog brings back great memories! If you get a chance, try the chai latte at Starbucks at the Mall of Asia. It's...well...interesting. And do they still have dogs patrolling the mall? Oh--Jason (11) says for you to try the Japanese restaurant at the hotel. He says "it's really cool and he (Ricky) will like it!" Please say hi to Che for me. And fly home safely--we're looking forward to getting together after you've been home a while and acclimated back to Central Standard Time!

Glad to hear that you finally were able to get Ricky. Also understand that the country was so shook up over two cajuns visiting that an earthquake took place with your anticipated arrival. Hopefully the remainder of the trip will be fun and uneventful.Keeping all of you in our prayers for a safe return.
