Austin,
Why are you bummed about try-outs. Just do your best if you choose to try out. That's all you are ever asked to do. Grannie can call Matthew's mom and let her know that she or Paw-paw can bring you over a little later than planned. Whatever you choose to do, know that you are awesome, loved, and missed. Mr. Earl will forgive you as he knows there is a lot going on right now. Remember it is "Hump Day" and you are over the hump!!
Love you lots,Mom

Hello Martinez's, I'm not too keen on this blog thing as it isn't very clear on how to send a message and if it gets through. I just clicked on the last post from yall to type this and hope it gets there. We are very much enjoying all the details of the trip and are estatic about the LONG adoption process coming to a happy ending. I'm also glad that it is somewhat turning into a mini vacation for the three of you. I guess it turns out there is alot of interesting history there to see and learn about. Of course, history was never one of my strong subjects perhaps because of my teachers Ms Hill and Thomas. I have however traveled the world and can definitely relate to the experiences that you have had in a third world country. It is most definitely only two groups. The haves and mostly the have nots. And it will really open your eyes. Again we wish yall well in the remainder of your stay and pray for your safe return. Know that we love yall,
Stephen and Family
hey aunt steph and my "favorite" Uncle T,
i am so happy the day has finally come for Ricky to return to the home God provided for him. It touches my heart to know that i have family like you that would be willing to take on the task of adoption. i hope one day to be able to take on the same endevor that you have. i know without a doubt Ricky was meant to be apart of our family. God works in mysterious ways if you think about it. I know it must totally stink to be orphaned as a child and i cannot imagine what it would be like but i do know that if it wouldn't have been for that exact event we wouldn't be privlidged and truely blessed to be getting a kid like Ricky right now. i cannot wait for the exciting years to come with my new cute as can be cousin. I know that Ricky has missed so many important things that he can never gain like getting to know papaw braud and those christmases when we were just in our terible twos back when it was exceptible to take bathes together which by the way looking back was total ummm whats the word unnecessary, but i also know that there a million more memories to be made in the future and let me tell you I CANT WAIT!! anyway i did't mean for this to be long but what can i say getting a new cousin is like one of the best most biggest things that has ever happened in the 14 years and 10 years that i have been alive. it makes me sad that i wont be able to be at the airport saturday to greet you, Uncle T and Ricky with open arms but i know that i cant change it so it is better to just except it and be greatful for the things God has blessed me with. I can't wait to see you guys and please just remind Ricky that even though i might not be at that airport on Saturday i still love him with all of my heart and it is truely a privlidge above all privlidges to have a cousin like him. Oh yea and make sure you enjoy every minute of your travels because whens the next time your gonna take a trip around the world? I love you all and i hope you have a great safe trip. ive been praying every day for your safety on your journey. I better get to my homework or ill be up all night. love you ALL more than anything!
xoxo

Stephanie & Tanner,
The little boys & I have had a great time reading about your adventures & reliving ours. We spent 3 days at their orphanage, so it sounds like you had more time to "tour" Manila than we. I should have told you that the ICAB meeting seemed to really be more of a "meet and greet" than an interview or "once over." They all were so nice. But I also wanted you to experience it for yourselves & be overwhelmed at their personalized sign instead of expecting it!!!! Just a quick note--Jason had huge issues with one ear on the (2) descents into US & BR airspace. Ordinarily, probably not that big of a deal, but after a week with "new" albeit longed-for and loved parents, it was a bit overwhelming. Buy gum & just be on alert. YOU'VE already been through a LONG & tiring air trip (and SO emotional, as YOU (sort of) knew what was going on, while the children really don't). So it may (or may not!) hit Ricky sometime soon that his life has really, radically changed. For the better. Anyway, just a heads-up on that old airplane thing, which I know you were already keen on, but it DID happen to us :! ENJOY your time there--we are so excited for you & looking forward to getting together with you here!
Susan

Good night to us and good morning to you. We ate supper at Mom and Dad's tonight. Mom cooked pork chops and mashed potatoes, salad - yummy! The kids were able to play outside a bit this evening on the trampoline. Oddie was the center of attention. I took him out in the back yard and he covered some ground. I think he thinks he is a big dog. Mom's nervous about the hawks getting him on her watch so I became a little paranoid too and only let him sniff around a little bit. He has been climbing up in my lap lately and I'm loving every minute of it. Maddie and Austin are doing great. Mom attempted to buy Maddie some jeans and uniform shorts but they didn't work out. Austin went to the library with Jacob O. to work on some project for school. They were picked up for church about 6pm and we headed home after that. OMG - last night dad, somehow, fell back in his recliner. The part you lean back on was flush with the floor and his feet were up in the air. He is fine and actually mom took a picture of him in his predicament. Ask your kids about it later- they saw it happen. I would have felt an uncontrollable laughter coming on if I saw him do that (D.A.). Idol was really good this week. Well, that's all the gossip I have for now. Your children are great, Mom and Dad have it under control and we are just gearing up for the Homecoming. Bring it on!!! Love ya bunches!
Hello Martinez's. This is Jailea. So glad to hear all is going well for you. Tell Ricky that we love him and can't wait to see him. I am so happy that this day has finally arrived. Ricky's arrival will change all our lives for the better. I guess visiting the Phillipines makes you appreciate what we take for granted. Take care. I have to go because Hunter is hollering for his medicine. He is sick again 101 fever and body aches. Our weather is crazy- 55 today and snow again on Fri. Love you Jailea
